Learner driver requirements:
Before you can start learning to drive a car, you’ll need a signed valid UK or NI provisional driving licence, unless you already have a full licence for a different category of vehicle, e.g. an automatic car or motorcycle.
Apply your first provisional licence online: https://www.gov.uk/apply-first-provisional-driving-licence or use the DVLA form ordering service, you also can obtain application form D1 from your local post office. Using your Government Gateway ID. If you don’t have one or need to re-register, you’ll get an ID as part of your application. Your provisional licence will show when you can start driving different vehicles. You can apply for a provisional licence when you’re 15 years and 9 months old, but it will only be valid from your 17th birthday. If you have, or have applied for, the enhanced rate of the mobility component of Personal Independence Payment, you can learn from 16.
While you are waiting for your provisional driving licence to come into effect, you should start studying the Highway Code and theory, and develop an awareness of road signs and markings. So once you start to learn to drive you will have more time to focus on your practical driving.
The tuition vehicle:
Your tuition car would be a Mazda 2, manual transmission, 1.3L petrol engine with dual controlled. Especially chosen for its safety, comfort and ease of handling.
